Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Facilitator, TCTSY-F, E-RYT-200
Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) classes can be healing for anyone who has experienced mental, emotional or physical trauma. When we live through traumatic experiences and feel powerless to protect ourselves, it can change how we interact with the world. Our minds may adapt by reliving the past, disconnecting from our bodies, or becoming hyper alert to what might happen in the future. While those adaptations help us survive traumatic experiences, they can make it hard to live in the present and feel like we're in control of our own life.
I've been honored to teach a weekly yoga class for veterans for two years at the Milwaukee VA inpatient center as well as offering TCTSY classes at The Healing Center, Sojourner Family Peace Center and through Milwaukee County CCS (Comprehensive Community Services).
I'm not facilitating classes at this time, but highly qualified, Milwaukee-based TCTSY Facilitator Denna Haslett has welcomed me sending folks her way.
